Command Center – Przemyśl Fortress. Construction report.

An unfinished building that stood for many years in Przemyśl's Zniesienie district and was nicknamed "the bunker", in recent months has begun to shine with aluminum and glass. As we have already written, the Command Center - Przemyśl Fortress is being built here, a unique exhibition and educational facility presenting the subject of World War I in a modern and interesting way. This is where tourists interested in military monuments and those who want to gain knowledge about the history of Przemyśl forts, the battles taking place there and the people who had to live in those difficult times will take their first steps.

On the first floor there will be a room promoting other attractions of Przemyśl and the surrounding area, encouraging tourists to stay in our beautiful city longer than a few hours. However, what is most interesting can be found on the ground floor.

Typical construction work on the Command Center has been completed. Now it's time to fill these raw walls with content: installations, projections, models, scenography. The contractor has time to do this until the end of July this year, when the project should be completed.

The assembly of furniture, display cases and installations is nearing completion. Work is underway on the substantive content, including: Scenes are recorded with an actor who, in the form of a hologram, will invite us to visit 14 exhibition rooms. As you can see in the photos, a cinema hall with 5D effects is almost ready, where visitors will watch properly processed archival films covering the period from World War I to the present day.

A room is also being built imitating a period railway carriage in which soldiers of the multinational army went to the front. In another room, decorated in a solemn and calm atmosphere, the descendants of those who fought in the Przemyśl Fortress will be able to find the names of their fallen ancestors in a special electronic list, and perhaps even find their burial place. The entire journey through these and other places that build our knowledge about ancient life in the Fortress and besieged Przemyśl will last about 2 hours.

In addition to these attractions, an educational offer will be prepared for children and teenagers, enabling interesting lessons to expand children's knowledge about the Great War. Classes will be held in well-equipped workshop rooms with a beautiful view of the ski slope, as well as a terrace from which you can admire the panorama of Przemyśl.

The restaurant room and, of course, the kitchen with its facilities, as well as the charming fireplace room, are also ready. As you can see in the photos, the work is progressing very quickly and soon we will be able to enjoy a new, attractive facility operating in the beautiful surroundings of Zniesienie in Przemyśl.
