Professionals in uniform - another project is starting at PANS

On October 24, 2022, the inauguration ceremony of the project "Professionals in uniform. Popularization of the professional path related to defense, internal security and crisis management among secondary school students of the city of Przemyśl" implemented under the project "Together we change Przemyśl" is financed from the funds of the Norwegian Financial Mechanism 2014-2021 and the state budget. 

Recruitment for participation in the project was very popular among students, but it was possible to admit only 50 students due to the limited number of places.

 

The inauguration was attended by students qualified for the project from four high schools in Przemyśl, who were accompanied by the principal, Mr. Wojciech Psik, and teachers cooperating with the university: Dorota Bijan, Beata Jaszczyszyn, and Iwona Sebastianka.

The invited guests were welcomed by Rector prof. Pawel Trefler, Slawomir Solecki, PhD. - Vice Rector of the Development and Cooperation Department, Robert Oliwa, PhD. - Vice Rector for Student Affairs, Dr. Marek Delong, Prof. PANS -Dean of the Faculty of Social Sciences, Humanities and Health Care, and Dr. Andrzej Kawecki - Director of the Institute of Social Sciences and Humanities.

Captain Sebastian Dobrowolski gave a short lecture on the specifics of work in the uniformed services and highlighted that adequate preparation in training to improve the professional competence of participants strengthens their competitiveness as future candidates for work in various types of uniformed services. Then Mr. Mariusz Szczęsny, familiarized the students with the technical and organizational requirements of self-defense classes. Finally, Ms. Malgorzata Walczyńska-Gancarz, Head of the Development and Cooperation Department and at the same time Coordinator of the case project, presented organizational issues to the participants.

In the coming days, the students will begin training in self-defense and first premedical aid, and will then participate in 5 study visits to institutions related to defense and public security.
